Freedom Week

Ladies - FREEDOM WEEK begins on MONDAY!

We are the FIRST club on campus to celebrate WORLD FREEDOM DAY- the day the Berlin Wall Fall (Nov. 9, 1989), and honor our American men and women who have served in our Armed Forces on VETERANS DAY (Nov. 10)!!!!!

Alan Sears, President, CEO, and General Counsel of Alliance Defense Fund, also formerly with the Reagan administration will speak at our Freedom Week event at 5:30 pm, Wednesday, November 8th. Mr. Sears will talk about the fall of the Berlin Wall - freedom's victory over tyranny.

Freedom Week is also devoted to honoring our troops. To introduce Mr. Sears's lecture, the ASU ROTC color guard will post the colors and salute during the national anthem. Invite all your friends in the ROTC or military to attend this freedom celebration! We want to honor them and their service to our country! (PLEASE NOTE - there has been a location change from the Alumni Lounge 202 in the MU, to the Ventana C Ballroom 226 in the MU). This event is open to the public.

--We are hoping for an overwhelming turn out!!! Please make it a priority to invite your friends to this event!! As you know Bill Clinton spoke today on campus and Janet Napolitano will speak on Sunday. Let's make the conservative presence known on campus!!!

Freedom Week festivities: NEW will have a table everyday in front of the MU from 10 am - 2pm; we need volunteers to be at the table - email catherine.e.smith@asu.edu what times you are available.

Monday: "Checkpoint Charlie" / Supply Drive for Troops, NEW meeting

Tuesday: VOTE YES on PROP. 107

Wednesday: ALAN SEARS speaks at 5:30 (we will need volunteers to take pictures, redirect people to our new location down the hall)

Thursday: World Freedom Day / End Supply Drive for Troops Friday: Veterans Day - NO SCHOOL - YAHOO!!!

Below is a list of supplies that you can donate for our Troops. It is also possible to write letters.

Take courage and announce NEW's supply drive for American men and women in our armed forces in your classes. Everybody knows someone who is in the military. People like to be part of things - let them know what they can do!

NEXT WEEK MEETING: 5:30 pm, Monday, November 6th, Apache 221, MU
We will be discussing our plan for the rest of the week and discussing chapter 3, "About Marriage" in Danielle Crittenden's book What Our Mothers Didn't Tell Us: Why Happiness Eludes The Modern Woman (books are $5 for members).
